Hi NickJust a quick note on our stay at Villa D’Louca. We’ve had many villa hylodais and this ranks amongst our best. Good sized pool with steps – even warm at 8 a.m. The additions of the water cooler and full aircon were fab. Couldn’t believe it only cost 4.5 TL for 19 litres of water & the delivery service was excellent. Villa was well equipped and the surroundings beautiful. A bit scary going along the track on our arrival (4 a.m.) with the palm fronds lapping through the windows but all good at first light! Found Kaunos Tours really helpful for arranging taxis (cheapest in town at 10TL one way) and arranging pick up for Dolmus to Izuzi Beach (3TL per person). One crew member being particularly helpful when discussing “turtle watch” tours (25TL per person) suggesting we’d be better off going to the Turtle re-couperation hospital/centre at Izuzi as locals use chicken skin to lure turtles to boats during peak season and don’t bother with them at quiter times. Spent an hour at the centre talking to those who care for the turtles, got some fab photos and lots of info and made a donation to support the running costs of the centre.Was our first trip to Turkey and happy with the number of restaurants – food and drink excellent. Only had one dodgy meal (think it was Indian Cuisine) where they served the worst rice i’ve ever tasted and provided the children with Cheeseburgers done in a mircowave with plastic wrapper still on. Even had to go to local shop for chappatis!?!. The steaks were the best we’ve had anywhere in the world. Highly recommend. When using the Migros Card the Store updated to a newer version. Left this in the cutlery draw. The burglar alarm went off and wouldn’t reset – even using the instructions left to press ESC. Kanous arranged for “Mr Cool” to come and fix it but his demenour changed when he fell through the Mosquito Screened door to the Veranda (did’t laugh….much). They messed with the PIR in the kitchen and replaced the battery in the Control Box. Bike really useful for trips into town.If you want trips and adventure or just laze around the pool its got it all. All in all a memorable holiday which we would highly recommend. Loved it.
